From February 18th to March 29th, we will be running a 40 Days for Life campaign at our Brixton Vigil. This means the vigil will be running from 8am-8pm, seven days a week, for forty days throughout Lent.

About

40 Days for Life is an initiative that began in America when a group of young adults got together to pray, fast, and hold a peaceful vigil outside their local abortion centre, aiming to bring the community together to find a solution to the crisis of abortion. These three pillars (prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach) inspired groups of individuals across America to start doing the same once or twice a year, in spring and autumn. Now 40 Days for Life campaigns take place the world over, and the first ones to take place in London were what inspired Good Counsel to start our regular, year-round vigils, which you can read about here.

Get Involved!

Please consider getting involved with 40 Days for Life this year. If you are a Catholic, it is a great opportunity to do something that matters this Lent, and if you aren't, it is still a great time to get actively involved in the pro-life movement.

How to get involved:

Location and Logistics

Due to the national buffer zone, pro-life vigils are illegal for 150 metres around all abortion centres in the UK. While we disagree with this law, we obey it so we can still maintain our presence in some way. Because of this, the vigil is located further down the road from the abortion centre, across the road from Corpus Christi Catholic Church. See the map for more details.

Ealing
