Pregnant? Worried?

Prayer
Vigils

What do our vigils consist of?

A vigil is a prayerful presence near an abortion clinic. While one designated person offers help to women coming for an abortion, all the others attending remain in constant prayer for the women, their children, the abortuary staff and the other people involved in her decision. Join us today so that no woman goes through an abortion at this place without an offer of help and without prayer being offered for her and her child. If you are sick, housebound or cannot attend between these hours, please pray and/or fast for the success of the vigil.

All vigil volunteers are required to sign a statement of peace stating that they will behave in a non aggressive and non violent manner outside the abortion centres. Please view that statement here.

Under the new national buffer zone, we are no longer allowed to offer counselling at the gate of the abortion centres, nor can we hold vigils of any kind within 150 metres of any 'clinic'.

We obey this law (although we disagree with it), and so our vigils are now held as near to the abortion centres as they can be without breaking the law.

Other Vigils

The Good Counsel Network works in unity with The Helpers of God's Precious Infants and with the 40 Days for Life Campaign. For details of other abortuary vigils please see these sites or phone the Helpers on 01727 763832 or 40 Days on 07947698195.

The simple answer is yes. This has been proven in a number of ways:

Firstly, we have seen hundreds of women turn around at the very gate of the abortion centre and accept our help.

Secondly, in 2016 alone, two of the abortion centres we ran vigils outside had large decreases in the number of abortions taking place within their walls:

~ Marie Stopes in Ealing decreased by 13% (from 7,459 abortions in 2015 to 6,404 in 2016).

~ BPAS in Twickenham decreased by 17.5% (from 7,325 in 2015 to 6,043 in 2016).

Thirdly, why else would the pro-abortion lobby bring in "Buffer Zones" banning peaceful silent prayer and an offer of hope near abortion centres unless it was having an effect?
