Our Lady of
Good Counsel
Our Lady Of Good Counsel's shrine can be found in Genazzano, Italy. However, before this it was housed in Albania, before miraculously travelling to the current location.
The Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel in 1968 (April 26th) was the last day before legal abortions began to be performed in England.
Many Popes and Saints have had devotion to the Mother of Good Counsel, and indeed, her shrine was among the very first places to be visited by our current Pope, Leo XIV.
The beautiful Image of Our Lady Mother of Good Counsel teaches us real maternal devotion and hope. It’s distinguishing features are the placement of the hands of the Child Jesus, one tightly around His Mother’s neck, the other firmly grasping the neck of her dress. Then there is the intense gaze, which passes between Mother and Child.
The Image is an example of how tightly bound the well being of Mother and Child are, of the permanent and indissoluble bond between them.

Prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel
O, Holy Virgin, to whose feet we are led by our anxious uncertainty in our search for and attainment of what is true and good, invoking thee by the sweet title of Mother of Good Counsel we beseech thee to come to our assistance, when along the road of this life, the darkness of error and of evil conspires towards our ruin by leading our minds and our hearts astray.
Do Thou, O Seat of Wisdom and Star of the Sea, Enlighten the doubtful and the erring, that they be not seduced by the false appearances of good, render them steadfast in the face of the hostile and corrupting influences of passion and of sin.
O Mother of Good Counsel, obtain for us from Thy Divine Son a great love of Virtue and, in the hour of uncertainty and trial, the strength to embrace the way that leads to our salvation. If Thy hand sustains us, we shall walk unmolested long the path indicated to us by the life and words of Jesus our Redeemer; and having followed freely and securely, even in the midst of this world's strife, the sun of truth and justice under Thy Maternal Star, we shall come to the enjoyment of full and eternal peace with Thee in the Haven of Salvation. Amen.
Saint Jude
One of the twelve apostles, know as Thaddeus and not to be confused with Judas Iscariot, St Jude preached The Gospel in Mesopotamia, Libya, and Persia with St. Simon. He died a martyr's death and was buried under St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
St Jude is patron of hopeless cases. We often work with women determined to have an abortion, or who would like to keep their baby but are in a difficult situation already.
These situations may appear hopeless to us, but God always has a solution. Thus St Jude is a perfect patron for our work as we overcome even what appear to be insuperable barriers.

Prayer to Saint Jude
St. Jude, glorious Apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of things despaired of: pray for me, who am so miserable: pray for me, that finally I may receive the consolations and succour of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (here make your request), and that I may bless God with the Elect throughout Eternity. Amen.
